Fanfiction

1 min read
So I started writing fanfiction for the Primarch's daughters. I still enjoy reading the stuff other people write about them, of course, but I thought I'd dip my toes back into the fanfiction pool in addition to the art pool. I posted them up on AO3 here: archiveofourown.org/works/7098… if anyone is interested. So far I've got drabbles for the daughters of Angron, Leman Russ, Horus, Fulgrim, the Night Haunter, and Guilliman.

My question to you, my watchers, is would you prefer that I cross-post them here? I can cross-post them, but I think AO3 is a better website format for fanfiction than deviantart. However if some of you would prefer not to have to watch two sites I totally understand and I'll make a folder for them here.

Hello people!

It's been a while since I used this account. A lot of things came up, and I dropped digital art almost entirely for a while, and stopped checking this account regularly, let alone posting. Nothing bad happened, life just got really busy. I'm sorry I left off right in the middle of a series. But I've since transferred to UC Santa Cruz, got settled in, found some new hobbies (LARP, mostly), and met some amazing artists there, who inspired me to get drawing again. So I'm going to be working on my skills, posting pictures of many costumes, and yes, hopefully pick up the Primarch's Daughter series again.

I'm getting back into it by doing some pencil sketches of all the ones I've already finished. Just getting a feel for the project again, and updating some of the character designs. A lot of them- OK almost all of them were strongly based on the reference photos I used rather than a proper character design. So I'm going through the process of redesigning a lot of them. I'll start posting those sketches soon.

Once I get those, I get to go through and roughly tally the votes for the next Daughter. :)

So yeah, I'm going, in full Commissarial regalia. I'm hopefully going to be meeting up with other 40K cosplayers in the Sail pavilion on Friday. Not sure about time, but it would either be significantly before or after Dan Abnett's 10-11 AM signing period. I'm bringing my copy of Eisenhorn. :D

Anyway, anyone else going? Anyone want to say hello? Anyone wish they were going but can't afford it/get there? If you are one of the latter, have a sympathy

So, I was talking to :iconbig0jack: tonight, and he said that he'd always wished there was a 501st-like legionwww.501st.com/ organization for Warhammer 40,000. I've had similar thoughts in the past, and I'm sure others have, too. If any of you know of a pre-existing website, forum, or organization for 40K cosplay please tell me, but I don't think anyone has tried it yet.

So, our idea: make a forum to collect all the varied information, tutorials, reference pictures, and bits of wisdom what few 40K cosplayers there are have picked up, and put it all in one place. It would make it much easier for beginners to make their first guardsman or commissar costume, and for masters to make Grey Knight armor. Tentatively, it would be divided into three sections: Imperial Guard, Inquisition, and Space Marines. Maybe a Mutants, Heretics, and Xenos section for all you traitors out there. ;) That should cover the most popular factions and sub-factions.

Would any of you be interested in joining such a forum? What about contributing information or ideas? Do you think I'm crazy? Hate the idea of sharing a forum with mere guardsmen? Give me your input!

The board is up! I'm still sorting a lot of the stuff out, so tell me either here or there if there is something wrong, something you want changed, or something added. Be sure to pop into the introductions thread!

I'm really, really not good with them, as I have discovered this quarter. I am never taking an online class again.

With an in-person class, you can talk to the teacher. Ask questions. The teacher explains things out loud, and points out issues other students have had in the past with assignments. If you stupidly miss one small part of the instructions on an essay that marks you down a lot, like I did, you can talk to the teacher about re-doing it for some extra points, or extra credit to make up for it. It's flexible and individual.

With the online system my college uses, there's no re-doing. There's no process of getting a teacher to look over your paper beforehand to see if it looks good. One misread direction will drop your grade significantly. I don't even know if the system will let a teacher take a re-submitted paper. I suppose it doesn't help that the book is badly written and contains about three too many pictures of Paris Hilton.

I'm not even kidding.

Has anyone else had better luck than I with online classes?
